Letter

Many employers and government offices in the Gulf and the wider Arab world expect requests in formal Arabic, even when the employee's working language is English. This tool produces a complete, polite letter in Modern Standard Arabic from one of six templates: resignation (استقالة), leave request (طلب إجازة), authorization letter (تفويض), salary certificate request (طلب شهادة راتب), experience certificate request (طلب شهادة خبرة) and complaint (شكوى).

The English page is a description of the tool with English field labels; the letter text itself is always Arabic, so type your name, job title and any free-text fields in Arabic (a colleague can help, or use the Arabic version of this page, linked at the top). The generated letter follows the standard structure: date, addressee, greeting (تحية طيبة وبعد), subject line, body, closing salutation and a signature block with your name and title.

Choose masculine or feminine so the few gender-marked words agree with the writer. The Gregorian date is filled automatically; the Hijri date is a text field you fill in yourself because calendar conversion can differ by a day. The result appears as copyable right-to-left text and as a printable page you can save as a PDF; nothing is uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Pick the letter type.
  2. Enter your name, job title and company in Arabic, and adjust the addressee line if needed.
  3. Fill in the template-specific fields: effective date for a resignation, dates for leave, the authorised person and purpose for an authorization, the subject and details for a complaint.
  4. Review the Arabic text, then copy it or click Print / Save as PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Can I write my name in English?

You can, but the letter will mix scripts. Official bodies generally expect the name as it appears on your Arabic ID or contract, so type it in Arabic if possible.

Does the resignation letter state a notice period?

It refers to "the notice period stated in the employment contract and the applicable labour law" rather than a fixed number, because the period differs by country and contract (30 to 90 days in the UAE depending on the contract; commonly 60 days in Saudi Arabia for open-ended contracts). Check your contract and add the number if you wish.

Is the authorization letter (تفويض) legally sufficient?

It is a simple authorization suitable for many internal or routine matters. Government departments and banks often require a notarised power of attorney or their own form. Ask the receiving party first.

Which Arabic is used?

Modern Standard Arabic with the conventional phrases of official correspondence, understood across all Arab countries. Regional dialect is not used.

Is anything stored or sent?

No. The letter is generated in your browser and disappears when you close the page. Copy or save it as a PDF first.
